bad fad

Fad diets... have you tried them?

SHAME ON YOU!

Naw, jus' kiddin'. We've all tried them right?

Tried them ALL to be exact...

I've personally tried so many I can't even remember them all.

Maybe that's my subconscious trying to suppress the terrible memories.

(My tummy's growling just thinking about it.)

Do you remember the cabbage soup diet? Blech.

HCG ring a bell? Don't even get me started.

There are so many fad diets out there--a simple Google search will make your head explode.

Should we even mention all the drugs you can take for weight loss? I'd rather be fat than dead... butthat'sjustme.

Do these diets work? It depends on your definition of "work."

Do you lose weight on these diets? Yup.

But what do you gain? Not much besides headaches, dizziness, and hunger...

lots of hunger.

So, you lose weight on these diets... but does it stay off? Rarely. Why is that?

Because you're not making lifestyle changes. You do the little dance they make you do for a few days, weeks, or months and then--BAM! You're on your own with no instructions for how to live your life.

Here's the thing... you didn't just gain all the extra weight overnight. Hate to break it to you, but unless you have a medical condition that either causes weight gain or requires medication that creates weight gain--you did this to yourself.

It's ok... there, there. Take a minute to mourn the loss of your ignorance.

So, now that we're past that... how are you going to effectively lose weight AND keep it off for the rest of your life?

Change your habits, change your mindset, CHANGE YOUR LIFE.

Eat better. Be more active. Stop making excuses.

Will the weight come off? You betcha. Will it come off faster than you can say the words "If I have to eat another piece of this dried up CRAP they call Melba toast I'm gonna punch someone?" Nope. It comes off slow and steady... ever heard of the tortoise and the hare? I'm not making this up, people.

They say it takes 28 days to break a bad habit. I say it takes at least 60 days to break a bad fad mentality. I challenge you, today, to break out of the fad. You--and your loved ones--will reap huge benefits and enjoy a longer, healthier life.

Just Say "No" to Fads...

your body will thank you--your mind will get over it. Promise.

XOXO

Oh my gosh! I tried the South Beach Diet and lasted all of a week before the blinding headaches had me calling it quits. Now I am all for everything in moderation. Lots of healthy foods, the less processed the better. I avoid sugar for the most part and drink lots of water. Its working like a charm, plus I feel good instead of feeling like I want to die, then eat everything in sight, then die again. :P
