{do i really need a title?}

I can't believe it's been over 2 months since I've posted! With vacations, moving, and holidays I've put this blog on the back burner! My bad!

I have another goal for this summer, except this time, I'm approaching running in a whole new light! Last year, I decided I wanted to run a 5k about a month before it was scheduled, thinking that was plenty of time to train and be ready to run 3 miles. Boy was I wrong! I did run the race and I finished it, but I was sooo sore for days after (I could barely walk people!), and after the first mile, I felt like I would never see the finish line. I think I finished in 47 minutes or something and was about 10 people away from being dead last! I was proud of myself for finishing the race and for showing up in the first place (since it was snowing & freezing), but this year I think I'll be more prepared.

This year I've decided to do another 5k on September 19 in Provo. It's the Utah Heart Walk/Run. (You can find more about it HERE) I've also started the Couch to 5k program found here. I did my first workout for week one this morning and it was great! I was pooped towards the end of the workout, but it was so much better than trying to run cold turkey and burning out.

Lately, as I have been unpacking, I've found pictures of myself from when Andrew and I were dating & first married and I keep thinking, "Dang Gina! You looked good girlfriend!" I remember when we first started dating I was running pretty much every day & probably for about 2-3 miles. I want to get back to running comfortably (and by comfortably, I mean running without thinking I'm going to pass out or throw up!) & I want so badly to fit into my cute jackets & jeans this fall!

So there it is- my goal is in writing! If anyone wants to start the 5k program with me and run it in the fall, I'd love that! It's always easier with a buddy! Let me know! Thanks for your support!

Glad your back, Girlfriend. I missed your funny comments, and REAL things to say. Have fun with running and get a really great playlist on your ipod to jam to while running. It really helps.
