{strangly calm}

If you read my other blog, you know that our offer on a home was recently accepted. I'm strangely calm about this. No freaking out, no sleepless nights, no "what ifs" racing through my brain. The spiritual part of my brain is telling me that this is how you know it's right, but the cynical part of me is saying, "No, you need to stress about this! This is the calm before the storm!"

Strangely enough too, I haven't had the urge to eat. I mean, I'm eating normally like you're supposed to, but usually when I'm worried about something or stressed, I find myself grazing on food all the time. Do any of you do that? It's not that I'm trying to comfort myself with food, it's more like it's a distraction. A delicious, more calories than I should eat, kind of distraction.

Anyway, I've been trying to make healthier choices when I eat and we've been trying to eat out less often (more to save money, than for the health benefits, but its a win/win situation, right?). I hope that I still have this calm, peaceful feeling about the house buying process in the next few weeks, and if I do start to feel the grazing urge, I'm telling myself now that I'll suppress it with healthier choices (carrots instead of crackers/chips) and by exercising.

Wish me luck! What do you do when your stressed?

P.S. Here is a really yummy recipe! If you're doing Weight Watchers, these babies are only 1 pt per muffin!

Chocolate Bran Muffins
Chocolate Bran Muffins (Makes 24 Muffins at 1 Point each or make 8 mini loaves at 3 points each)
3 cups All Bran Cereal
2 1/2 cups warm water
1 package of Low Fat Brownie Mix
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1. Soak the cereal and water together for a few minutes.
2. Add remaining ingredients & mix together.
3. Spray muffing tins with Pam. Bake at 350F for 20-25 minutes.

So glad you are back on. I am needing some inspiration. Totally going to try this recipe. I am all about the grazing. If Lil dosen't finish her pB&J I'm all over it. At night making a big bag of air popped popcorn with " I can't believe it's not butter" spray is like only 100 calories or so and also try getting a boxed cake and instead of the eggs, oil and water, put a whole can of Diet Coke. It's a WEight Watchers thing too! Yummy! Good luck with the house and all. Wish me luck on not opening up the freezer and eating the mint chocolate chip Icecream tonight.

Maybe just 1/2 Cup is okay, right?

I don't have an appetite when I'm stressed. I'm a bored eater, so as long as I'm doing stuff and not just sitting around, then I'm good with not snacking.

Stress suppresses my appetite as well. :(

I've found that going for a run helps considerably when stressed. It takes your mind off of whatever is stressing you at the moment.
