{slow and steady}

So, it's been a month since I started weight watchers and I've lost 5 lbs! I was hoping it would have been 10 pounds, but I guess slow and steady is better than nothing right?
After the 5k I could barely move. Seriously, I looked like a 90 year old woman hobbling around and rubbing Bengay into my sore thighs. It was then that I decided I need to run and stretch more. My friend Andrea and I made a pact to run together every Monday and Wednesday. Last night we ran 2 miles and it was so fun! She had plotted out the route in her neighborhood, and when we were done, it didn't even seem that far! It was great to run with her too because when I'm by myself running, I tend to think, "Oh mylanta! I'm dyin' here! *pant, pant, pant* I should probably walk." And then I do walk. When I'm running with someone I think, "Man, she doesn't even seem winded! I'm dyin' here, but I'll wait until she needs to walk. *pant, pant, pant* Must...keep...up!" I feel like I'm pushed just a little further when I run with someone, which is good right?
By the way, THANK YOU to everyone who has written in with their success stories! Aunt Deb, Robin, & Danielle- you guys have given me some great pointers and it's so great knowing that achieving weight loss goals is possible! If any of you have any great tips or just want to share, send me an email! I love it!
And last, but not least, in honor of my 5lb weight loss, I found this picture, and although it is pretty gross, I thought it was cool. It shows what 1 pound of body fat and 5 pounds of body fat looks like. It's kind of neat to see just how much it is!

Shan...5 pounds is great! I know that slow and steady can be frustrating and not all that exciting...but it's *so* much less likely to be water weight, and so, so much more likely to stay off. You are doing so great!

Also, totally inspiring me to buckle back down and lose the last 25-30 I have to go.

Keep up the good work!
