SPOTLIGHT!!!

I've realized lately one thing that truly motivates me to get out of bed and fight for health. It's people like Kim. I will be posting a spotlight here and there to motivate us all.

I am excited to introduce to you one of my inspirations. Mrs. Kimberly Babbel. Recent convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and mom of two beautiful girls, and a son I think? Anyway.

Kim was diagnosed with breast cancer not long ago. She has since completed her Chemo Treatments and so far so good. They were seriously blessed throughout the whole process. I have never had someone close to me go through something like this. It has been an amazing thing to witness.

What amazes me about Kim, is her ability to smile through these hard times. Never once have I seen her down or depressed. She has stayed strong for her friends and family and her efforts have been noticed by all.

Not long ago after her last chemo treatment she posted on facebook how excited she was to get back to her normal daily routines and to gain the strength back that she lost from her fight with cancer.

I took the opportunity to invite her to our little health group at the church. She came up with some great ideas on her own to start getting active.

Seriously I don't know how she does it. Literally a few weeks after her last treatment she was gearing up for the early morning gym outings with us. She is dedicating herself in a way that motivates me so much. She now knows what it feels like to be knocked down so hard it was hard for her most days to even get back up. Well.....she's back! And NOTHING is going to stop her.

I know her husband has been the greatest support to her. He is amazing. Along with so many others. She also was able to lean on The Savior and her testimony as well to carry her through. She posted, on facebook, scriptures that helped her through some of those harder days. Little does she know those scriptures helped not just her, but me too. I just wanted to thank Kim for her example to me. And if I ever have to go through something like this I know from watching Kim how I want to carry myself.

I hope it doesn't take getting knocked down for us to realize how blessed we really are. Let's fight!

Your friend Kim is definitely amazing and I wish her the best of health. As amazing as she is, sounds like you're right there with her. A strong support system is so important in the recovery process as well as in life.

Thanks for your post, great words to follow.
