{gettin' my work out groove on}

For the past 2 weeks my friend Kamis and I have been going to the Zumba class at Golds Gym. The first time we went, I was a bundle of nerves. It had been awhile since I worked out and more than anything, I was afraid of making a fool of myself! While I love dancing, I'm more of an Albert Brennaman kind of dancer than a Shakira. You know the kind, right? My moves consist of mixing a little of the sprinkler with the wrist roll. So imagine my anxiety when we walked into the class and saw that 90% of the attendee's where teensy little dancer girls. And boy, did they have moves! I tried my best keeping up and shaking my booty, but I think I only kept up with about 15% of it! I'm sure I looked like a fool, but the more I got into it, I figured as long as I was moving I was doing well! And you know what, everyone in that class in in there for the same reason. We're there to move and get a good, fun workout in! Even the girls who were great dancers were laughing at themselves! And that's what it's all about right? Having fun!

Are you in Utah County? Come to Zumba at Golds and get your groove on!

How fun! I would totally be self conscious of myself! I remember you being a great dancer! Those good 'ole high school days!

That is how I feel about starting to dance to Kinect in my own family room!!! I will only want to do it if I am home alone!!!! Good for you though for getting out ... I need to get out and walk, and then run, so McCall and I don't die at our half marathon! (yikes)

Zumba is fun! I was nervous too, until I walked into my first class at the YMCA and was the youngest one by at least 20 years... although I did not have the best moves in the class ;) it was not as intimidating. I'm on a weight loss journey too, will love to read the encouragement here :)
