{weight watchers}

Does this look familiar to any of you?

This is all of my weight watchers "tools" that I have accumulated over the years. I think I have signed up for weight watchers about 3 or 4 times. Each time I've had a little bit of success, but I just never stick with it. If you look at the weigh in sheets, you'll notice that I usually quit going after the 6th week. Honestly, I don't know why.

So, I've decided to sign up again, but I'm sticking with it this time! I'm tracking everything I eat, everyday, watching my portion control, and attending the weekly meetings. I know I wasn't successful before, because I wasn't doing any of those things before. I'd track what I ate for the first week or so, but after that, I'd get lazy and stop. I also wasn't going to the meetings, because sometimes they were so boring or it was something I'd heard before, but they say that when you have a ton of support, you'll succeed! So tonight is the night. I'll let you know how it goes and I promise I'll be posting more often!

What has been your success in losing weight? Do you have any tips for me? What motivates you? Share your tips and stories!

The diet that I stuck with the longest is the South Beach diet. It's very similar to one the Weight Watcher diets...the one where you don't count points. I can't remember what it's called. I struggled with the weekly meetings because I was the youngest person there by like 30 years and I just couldn't relate to these women...except that we all wanted to lose weight. I found that the Weight Watcher online community was MUCH more my style. So definitely check that out.

I think that's so awesome you're signing up for Weight Watchers -- you're an inspiration for getting serious! Can't wait to hear how it goes! Guess what - you did inspire me to add some songs to my ipod and I finally made it to the gym - and I had fun! Must go back. And stop drinking so much soda. Ahhh addicted! Btw - do you like Kylie Minogue? I love her "X" album and it totally kept me going at the gym!

The thing about losing weight that's tricky is that if you want to change your physique for good you have to change your brain and ways for good. No other way to say it. Diets can work for a while, but a change in lifestyle and the way you view food is the only way, as far as I can tell, to really do it.
It's hard to say what can do it for someone--everyone is different. Maybe with this Weight Watchers thing you can really stick with it and after a while become aware of how you have changed habits. I think WW is a good program to help a person awaken to how they got to where they did and how to change.
Also, try learning to make some more healthful foods. It's fun to get into health food cooking and think of how the foods you eat really affect your body and health. It's also much more colorful and good for you. Hey---food for decorating! It's right up your alley! You could make some funky, beautiful meals, my friend.

Hello Im a lurker, so I hope its ok to comment. I lost a heap of weight about a year ago and have kept it off so here are my tips for what its worth..
I cut down on carbs (not drastically) but I didnt eat them after 4pm, I gave up bread , I increased my fruit , veg and water intake and I went to the gym as often as my timetable allowed (about twice a week). This sounds lame but it worked for me and I can keep it up. Also I didnt lose ANY weight for 4 weeks... but then I did ... so perservere.
Good luck
Liz

I did weight watchers once and lost 6 lbs. I did like it because I liked going in and being weighed. It was good motivation for me. Every Sunday I tell myself that Monday is going to be my day to go back and I never do. I think it is a awesome prgram if you keep it up. My problem was that I did it wrong. All I ATE WAS THE WEIGHT WATCHERS FOOD! That is not the point. the point is to teach you how to eat good not to just have you eat anything that says weightwatchers on the package. Good luck babe! I think it will be great for you! PS I think you look go how you are though!
